Principal's Welcome

BD Somani International School welcomes you to its website. BDSIS is a unique school set in the quiet greenery of Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai. It was the first school in this part of the city to offer, as its curriculum, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We now have two programmes at the school. From grade 6 to grade 10 students follow the curriculum of the Cambridge International Examinations which leads to the IGCSE examinations at the end of grade 1o. In grades 11 and 12 all our students are enrolled in the full IBDP.

The faculty of the school is a balanced mix of overseas and Indian teachers. All of our teachers are experienced and well trained in both of the international curriculums that we offer. Our school puts great emphasis on encouraging positive and supportive interaction between teachers and students. This philosophy has helped us to create a very friendly and purposeful atmosphere at the school.

Students at BDSIS are achieving excellent results in both the IGCSE and the IBDP examinations. For instance in 2012 two of our students achieved 45 points (the maximum score) in the IBDP. As a result of our outstanding academic reputation, students are gaining admission to some of the best universities in the world, including (in the UK) Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial College, UCL and Warwick and (in the US) Brown, Duke, U-Penn, Cornell, Wellesley, Northwestern, Michigan and NYU.
